14 days before your appointment.
Refrain from taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Advil®, Ibuprofen, Aleve®, Aspirin, and Motrin®. Also, avoid Vitamin E, fish oil, and St. John's Wort. These products can increase the likelihood of bruising. However, do not stop any prescribed medications without consulting your physician first.
24 hours before your appointment.
To reduce the chance of bruising, please avoid consuming alcoholic beverages within 24 hours of your treatment.
Please inform us of any new antibiotics or medications you've started since your last visit. It’s essential to update us on all medical conditions, medications you're currently taking, skin disorders, allergies, and any history of anaphylaxis or other medical concerns.
Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot be treated. Additionally, patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation must be in remission for 6 months and have clearance from their oncologist or PCP before receiving treatment.
For those being treated for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), you may wear deodorant on the day of your appointment. The neurotoxin will help reduce sweating in the treated areas, providing relief and increased comfort.
You can receive multiple procedures on the same day as your neurotoxin appointment, but the order matters for the best results. Microneedling must be performed prior to receiving tox.
If you're getting dermal fillers, microneedling, and neurotoxin in the same session, the procedures will be performed in a specific sequence: dermal fillers first, followed by microneedling, and then neurotoxin injections.
Additionally, a VI peel is recommended before neurotoxin injections to address multiple signs of aging effectively and enhance the overall results.
Minimum of 24 hours after Botox treatment.
Strenuous activities increase heat and blood flow, which can spread the toxin to unintended areas, reducing its effectiveness or resulting in unwanted results like an uneven smile or droopy eyelid. Stick to light activities to allow the treatment to set properly.
Minimum of 24 hours after Botox treatment.
Touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas can cause the neurotoxin to migrate, leading to unwanted effects. Let the injections settle naturally for 24 hours for optimal results.
This includes delaying massages or facials until the following day.
Minimum of 24 hours after Botox treatment.
Applying pressure on your face, such as laying face down, wearing tight headgear, hats, or sunglasses, can push the toxin into areas where it wasn’t intended. Be mindful of your sleeping position and any accessories.
Minimum of 24 hours after Botox treatment.
Heat and steam increase circulation and can cause the toxin to spread. Avoid hot showers, steam rooms, and saunas, (and even warm hair dryers!), to ensure the neurotoxin stays in the targeted areas.
Bruising at the injection sites is common and typically resolves within 14 days. To minimize bruising, avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements before your treatment, and apply a cold compress afterward if needed.
While some benefits are typically seen earlier, it can take up to 14 days for the neurotoxin to fully set in. Patience is key, as the gradual process ensures the most natural and balanced results.
For those being treated for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), you may wear deodorant after your treatment. The neurotoxin will help reduce sweating in the treated areas, providing relief and increased comfort.
A follow-up appointment is required 2-3 weeks after treatment for all new neurotoxin patients. This allows us to assess your results and make any necessary adjustments to ensure you achieve the desired outcome.
Between Days 14 and 21, a dose adjustment may be necessary to fine-tune your results. If you notice any areas that need a little extra attention, please call or text Dewy Aesthetics to discuss. Unfortunately, we cannot make any adjustments after Day 21 in order to minimize the number of exposures you have to Botox or other neuromodulators. After Day 21, you must wait a full 12 weeks from your original date of injection to be re-treated.
Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Daxxify® are FDA-approved to last about 3 months. However, everyone is unique, and the longevity of results and the amount of product required can vary from person to person.

Minimum of 24 hours after PRF treatment.
Avoid applying pressure or massaging the treatment area to ensure the PRF remains in the targeted areas and works effectively.
You may experience pinpoint bleeding, which will resolve quickly. Any immediate redness should subside within an hour and can be covered with makeup.
Mild bruising and sensitivity around the injection site may occur and typically resolves within 3-5 days. Apply cold compresses as needed.
The injection sites may be tender and appear puffy for 3-5 days. Initial swelling will subside after 1-2 weeks, and natural collagen fiber networks will build over the next few months. For optimal results and to restore collagen loss, we recommend Neocutis Lumiere Firm eye cream, available at a discount on the day of treatment.
The first treatment may be underwhelming. Multiple treatments are needed to achieve the desired outcome, which is why we recommend a series of 3 treatments to start.
If you experience prolonged symptoms, visual changes, or an increase in discomfort or swelling, contact our office for immediate follow-up.
7 days before your appointment.
Do not expose the treatment area to the sun, tanning beds, or self-tanning products for at least 24 hours before and after treatment, ideally 1 week. Sun exposure can lead to pigmentation issues that may be long-lasting.

During the course of your treatments, notify our staff of any changes to your medical history, health status, or personal activities relevant to your treatment.
Minimum of 1 week after PRP treatment.
A sunburn-like effect is normal for 1-3 days. You will look and feel sunburned after the treatment. Severity of redness will depend on how aggressive the treatment was performed. The skin may feel tight, dry, swollen, and sensitive to the touch. The treated area may appear darker and the darkened skin may flake off within 1 week. Avoid picking or exfoliating the area and allow old skin to flake off naturally. Do not use exfoliating medications, chemicals, or products on the treated areas for at least 1 week.
Overnight after PRP treatment.
Keep the PRP on your skin as long as possible, ideally overnight. The next morning, gently cleanse with water or a gentle cleanser. Apply Neocutis After Care or Biofirm, as much as needed for the next 24 hours.
Avoid any products with parabens, petroleum, mineral oil, silicone, cetyl alcohol, and fragrance. Do NOT use alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, retinol (vitamin A), vitamin C or anything perceived as ‘active’ skin care.

If incidental sun exposure is unavoidable (i.e. driving to and from work, walking from your car to the house, etc.) use a protective hat and a full-spectrum sunblock with SPF 30 or higher. Neocutis full regimens and SPF products are available.

To manage discomfort, you can take Tylenol and use ice packs to minimize swelling. Additionally, sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated to further reduce swelling.
Watch for unusual swelling or signs of infection at the blood draw site. Contact us immediately if you have concerns.
For best results and efficacy, we recommend a series of 5-8 treatments administered at 4-6 week intervals (Vampire facials 3 initial treatments). You may notice immediate as well as longer term improvements in your skin. Maintenance every 4-6 months is optimal for sustained improvements.
For the Signature Dewy Glow Facial, a series of 3 treatments, 6-8 weeks apart are recommended, or as needed before events where you need a dewy glow!

Please contact your PCP for a prescription.
Schedule your filler appointments at least 2 weeks before any special events, as bruising and swelling may persist for up to 2 weeks post-treatment.
Use Tylenol instead of other pain relievers in the week leading up to your treatment, as it does not increase the risk of bruising.
Consider taking arnica tablets for 7-10 days prior to your injection appointment to minimize bruising.
24 hours after Dermal Filler treatment.
Avoid leaving town within 24 hours after your filler appointment. In the rare event of a complication, we need to be able to assess and intervene quickly.
Keep an ice pack on the area for 5 minutes in the office if necessary. You may use cool compresses at home, but do not ice further. Icing too aggressively can damage the skin and cause scarring.
